   Introduction of Water Based Glue

Water-based adhesives are water-based or dispersion-based adhesives. After the water evaporates, the adhesive concentrates and solidifies. Including water soluble and emulsion type. The water-soluble type mainly includes polyvinyl alcohol, isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer, low molecular weight urea-formaldehyde resin, polyacrylamide, resol phenolic resin, polyethylene oxide, and the like. Emulsion type resin-containing and rubber-based emulsion adhesives. Commonly used resins are vinyl acetate polymer or copolymer, polyacrylate, polyurethane, epoxy resin, etc.; rubber type mainly includes natural rubber, chloroprene, nitrile, styrene-butadiene latex etc.

    Features of Water Based Glue

Water-based adhesive refers to the adhesive with water as the dispersion medium, also known as water-based adhesive. It is a kind of adhesive that has developed rapidly in China in recent years. In 2012, the output reached 3.41 million tons, accounting for 60.9% of the total output of adhesives. Compared with solvent-based adhesives, water-based adhesives are environmentally friendly, low-cost, non-flammable, safe to produce and use, and easy to adjust viscosity. However, moisture in the system can shrink the bonded fabric or Curling and wrinkling the paper can also cause corrosion and rust problems in the metal adherend. Due to the high surface tension of water and high polarity, water-based adhesives have poor adhesion to non-polar or weakly polar materials. In addition, the specific heat capacity of water is large and the volatilization rate is slow, so the rubber layer needs to use a heating and drying device when curing. The solid content of the water-based adhesive is 40% to 80%. By increasing the solid content of the system, the curing speed of the adhesive layer can be improved to some extent.

    Applications of Water Based Glue

According to the dispersion state of the main material in the system, the water-based adhesive is mainly divided into three types: water-soluble type, water-dispersed type and water-based emulsion type. The water-soluble adhesive mainly includes an aqueous solution of a natural polymer such as starch, dextrin, cellulose, protein, or a modified product thereof, and a synthetic polymer solution such as polyvinyl alcohol, an amino resin (such as a urea resin, a melamine formaldehyde resin, etc.), a phenol resin, and the like. Water-dispersible adhesive mainly refers to water-based polyurethane adhesives, water-based epoxy resin adhesives, etc.; water-based adhesives mainly include synthetic resin emulsions such as polyvinyl acetate and polyacrylate, and styrene-butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, neoprene, etc. An adhesive composed of synthetic latex. Water-based adhesives are mainly used in the construction of wooden laminates, flooring, floor tiles, carpets, ceilings and wall materials, as well as packaging for cartons, corrugated cardboard, envelopes, diapers, sanitary napkins, labels, etc. In addition, water-based adhesives are also widely used in office supplies, aerospace, electronics, automotive manufacturing and other fields.
